In our parent-child groups, there is space to discuss topics such as development, breastfeeding, nutrition and life during the baby years. Participation is possible with babies from three months throughout their first year of life.

These groups are offered between parents, i.e. they take place without professional moderation and management. However, a member of staff is available as a contact person for any additional questions or problems.

The group is open, i.e. registration is not required.

Time: Every Monday from 13:00 – 14:30

Next Date: From September 15, 2025

The group is a parent-to-parent programme, i.e. it takes place without professional moderation and guidance. However, a member of staff from the Familienzelt is available as a contact person and can help with the babies at the beginning and end of the group.

Group for mothers with premature babies

Around one in ten babies is considered “premature” at birth, many of whom are born weighing less than 1,500 g.

Parents are often very worried and anxious about their baby (or their babies in the case of multiples) during this phase. Some families spend weeks or even months in hospital. Everyone is probably longing for the day when the baby no longer needs intensive medical care and they can go home with him or her.

But it is not uncommon for parents to feel a great deal of tension at home for a long time, feeling insecure and anxious when dealing with the baby. It can be frustrating and painful for them to compare their baby with others who were born on schedule. And many mothers grieve over the abrupt termination of their pregnancy or a difficult breastfeeding relationship.
The group meets once a month. Here you can exchange ideas with other mothers of premature babies. Children in their first year of life can be brought along. The focus is on the experiences and feelings of the parents, not on promoting the development of the babies.

A psychosocial specialist accompanies the group.

Time: 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Contribution: free of charge

Group for women after a traumatic birth

You have had a baby – but the memory of the birth is painful and associated with unpleasant feelings?

Did the birth go completely differently than you had wished or imagined? Perhaps events came thick and fast and you suddenly had no control over the situation. You were overwhelmed by the feeling that you no longer had a say in what happened to you and your body. The lack of your own room for manoeuvre had a traumatizing effect.

Her strength and zest for life do not return. The joy of having a baby doesn’t really come back either. Those around you may react with a lack of understanding and you may hear things like “What’s wrong, everything went well!”.

The group meets once a month,

– to talk about the birth.
– to go in search of our previous abilities.
– to discover new skills that can help us.
– to cope with stressful events.
– to place the birth experience in our lives and look at it from a different perspective.

The group is open to all mothers who feel the need to talk about the birth of their child.

Time: The group takes place once a month on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 10:00 to 12:00.

Group leader: Deborah Dreßler, Psychological Psychotherapist

Contribution: 5 – 10 € per appointment

Group for mothers and fathers who have lost a child

Nothing compares to the pain caused by the death of a child. Our world collapses, our values and our relationships with family and friends are shaken. Nothing is as it used to be. Grief distances us from our surroundings, which often even show us a lack of understanding or helplessness.

Without any grounding – with the feeling that nothing will be all right again – the search for a way to live with the loss begins.

It often helps to talk about the incomprehensible.

In the group with other affected people, you will find a protective space in which you can share your feelings, such as anger, powerlessness and hurt. It doesn’t matter how long ago the child died.

Here you can allow your grief and sorrow to be felt. Here you can remember your child, the loss, but also the happy moments with him or her.

The group is aimed at mothers and fathers who have lost their child during pregnancy after the 15th week of pregnancy, during or in the first few months after the birth.

The bereavement group is accompanied and moderated by Luisa Schall. Luisa lost her first child in the ninth month of pregnancy in 2021 and attended the “Familienzelt” bereavement group herself. As a psychological counselor, she accompanies orphaned parents, couples with an unfulfilled desire to have children and parents of angel babies in the follow-up pregnancy.

Time: 3rd Friday of the month from 6.00 – 8.00 p.m.

Contribution: 5€

Registration required via: luisa.m.schall@gmail.com

Self-help group for women with psychological crises around childbirth

Around 10-20% of all mothers experience a mental crisis around the birth of their child. The self-help group can serve as a place for affected women to exchange experiences in confidence and provide mutual support.

The self-help group is confidential and free of charge. It is designed to help people find individual ways out of the crisis and no longer feel alone.

The meetings take place alternately digitally or in the “Familienzelt” on site.
The group is offered as part of the Schatten und Licht association.
